Dardia ties record for most goals in a season
Senior, three time All-Section IV All-Star, Erik Dardia tied Dryden’s single season goal total during the last game of the season against Seton Catholic. He and Ross Cole both sit at 40. The original record didn’t last long. Ross Cole set the record in 2014 with 40
goals. Before scoring a goal in each of
the last 3 games, Erik was tied for second most with Joseph DeLucia (37 in
2014). Prior to 2014 the record high was
36 by Jordan Zehr (2013), Joe DeLucia (2013) and Matt Federation (2012). Ross still holds the single season assist
record at 35 (2014) and most points in a season at 75 (2014) Matt Federation sits at second with 69 (36
and 33) points in 2012 and Joe Delucia is third with 65 (37 and 28) in 2014.
Erik finished 3 goals shy of 100 for his career (4 years). Joseph DeLucia ended at 96 for his career (3
years). Matt Federation and Jordan Zehr
are at 70 and 68 respectively for only their junior and senior seasons. They also played Varsity in their Freshman and Sophomore years.
The score books prior to 2012 are not available. We only have team win/loss records, goals
scored and goals against. There is a
good chance that Matt and Jordan are close to 100 when adding in their freshman
and sophomore seasons. Prior to 2012 when the team set the record for
goals scored at 137 (The 2013 team holds the record for most goals scored at 161) the highest goals scored was 87. Using percentages of goals the leaders have
scored in the last 4 years it is unlikely that anyone scored over 30 in 2007
through 2011.
6 Lions Laxers make All-Stars.
2015 Section IV Lacrosse Division 3 All-League teams have been announced - Dryden Lacrosse had 5 on the first team and 1 one the second.
First team: Erik Dardia, Gavin Marsh, Padraic Iannello, Ty
LeViere, and Connor O'Brien.
Second team: Brad Hinman
Erik and Ty are repeat selections. Erik was on the Second team as a sophomore in 2013 and also on the first team in 2014. Ty was also a first team selection in 2014.
Congratulations to the selections and the team. The team finished at 6-10 this season (second most wins in a season
behind 7 in 2013) and advanced the sectionals for the second time in our short
9 year history.

Implementation of Boys Lacrosse Rule Delayed Until 2016
The "V-Chanel / shooting strings" rule that had been changed for 2015 has been moved to 2016. It's similar to the rule the NCAA went with a few years ago. For juniors and younger it might be a good time to start testing new shooting string locations that fall within the rules to be ready for 2016.
The 2" length of strings has been in the rules for a couple of years.
See link below
NFHS Rule Changes
The NFHS has delayed implementation of a change to boys lacrosse Rule 1-7-3 until the 2016 season. In the 2015 rules changes, Rule 1-7-3 was amended to read:

NFHS Rule Changes
The NFHS has delayed implementation of a change to boys lacrosse Rule 1-7-3 until the 2016 season. In the 2015 rules changes, Rule 1-7-3 was amended to read:
ART. 3 . . . Any strings or leathers are limited to a hanging length of 2 inches. All hollow crosse handles must
have their open end covered with an end cap manufactured for a lacrosse
stick. In both cases, the crosse shall not be considered illegal;
however, it shall be removed from the game until corrected.
Any
additional strings or laces (e.g., shooting strings, V channels) must
be located within 4 inches of the top of the crosse. No more than one
side wall string on each side is allowed.
It should be noted that the first paragraph of Rule 1-7-3 will still
be implemented for the 2015 season. Only the second, underlined part
will be delayed until 2016.
